This is a good, solid leaf blower. On dry leaves, it moves them adequately and I assume it would be fine for those homeowners with fairly small yards with deciduous trees that have smaller leaves (Dogwood, Forsythia, etc.). In those conditions, the power is enough to efficiently clean a fairly good-sized area on one charge of the 60v battery.Pros:Convenience -- Battery-operated tools couldn't be easier to operate and use. Just plug the charger into the wall outlet, plug the battery into the charger, and wait until the battery is fully charged. (My battery arrived with am almost full charge. The battery holds a charge really well.) Once the battery is at full charge, plug it into the blower and go to work.Cost -- Over time, this is a very inexpensive proposition as you will not be dealing with oil and gas, stabilizers and detergents, spark plugs, etc. There aren't many moving parts and I would imagine repairs (if needed) would be fairly minor.Weight -- Light.Noise -- Quieter than a standard 2-stroke engine. Earplugs are recommended but probably not absolutely necessary if you're not using it at full power.Ergonomics -- One lever controls on/off and power, allowing you to adjust desired power. This lever isn't spring-loaded so it stays at the desired level. Couldn't be easier and more sensible than this.Cons:Ergonomics -- The battery is the heaviest part of the blower and it's inserted in the back making the blower back-heavy. This makes pointing the blower downward a bit of a chore over a long period, requiring thumb or wrist adjustment that is constant.Power -- This blower really isn't very powerful and the nozzle design doesn't help. Rather than concentrating the air flow through the end of a duck bill design that runs more or less parallel to the ground surface, this is a round opening that is much less concentrated. As such, I have to pay much more attention to the height and direction of the blower nozzle and to the surface I'm blowing -- much more so than the Hitachi gas 2-stroke I also own, a blower that not only has more brute strength but also focuses it for maximum impact. Rather than enjoying the process of getting my parking area and driveway really clean, the Powerworks blower makes it more of a chore.Sound -- A high-pitched whine. Really annoying. I use earplugs not due to decibels (it's not terribly loud) but due to the frequency. Yes, it's that bad.Overall, I'm glad I bought this blower. It's great to have a tool that can do an adequate if not stellar job at a good price and without the hassle of a gas-powered blower. If you live in a reasonably dry climate with smaller leaves, needles, and other assorted light debris, this is an excellent option. If you're like me, you live in a moist climate (PNW) with large maple/alder/etc. leaves and lots of cedar/fir/coniferous droppings and if you don't have the time to blow your driveway and parking area every other day, you need a blower with some real power. This ain't it. It's good for quick, light jobs and I'm glad I have it in my arsenal but I need power when I need it.I feel like RoboCop when I hold this thing. Great design and very powerful.Getting the battery out of the charger is a task...use a paint stick to pry it out. Also push the battery down while pushing the release button in the unit helps also to get it out of the blower housing. The blower works well and I use the high speed a lot and still get 30 mins of constant use out of it. By that time I am worn out anyhow. You want to use the low speed in the beds so as to not blow out the mulch. Does a nice job, got mine on a super sale during the holidays for $179.00 but would buy it at the 299....it is that good. Price of battery is expensive so catch the sale and buy a second unit if you need an hours worth of blowing. I recommend this unit highly. This was during the fall where leaves were very thick. Just for grass cutting debris you could just use the low setting and get 45 mins or more out of it.I already owned the weed trimmer from this company, so I figured I would get the leaf blower as well. My 2.5a battery does not last nearly as long as I would like, but when it’s on it does a good job. Getting the battery in an out requires some real force.I have both this Backpack Blower BPB60L510PW (Powerworks) and the Powerworks 60V Brushless Jet Blower, BL60L2510PW (Snapper Version). I like the comfort of the backpack blower and hands down it's the winner when using on driveways and sidewalks. The Jet Blower is much better getting around and under things. If you have lawn mowers, 4-wheelers, garden tractors and garbage cans to clean up under and around the Jet Blower would be best. The Backpack Blower is quieter, more powerful and very comfortable, however, I just grab the Jet Blower for those 30 second jobs and tight spot jobs. I will be finished with the 30 second jobs using the Jet Blower, before I could get the Backpack Blower on. Now with the Jet Blower you may want to use hearing protection if you use it much longer than 30 seconds. Glad I have them both.Update: I have been doing the lawn care at my church for some 4 months now. There is a gas string trimmer and a backpack blower for me to use, but I perfer to use my Powerworks equipment. I have used the backpack blower each time to clear the sidewalks and so I am getting more work out of it. It makes the job much easier than the handle blower. I have completed the job with one 4ah battery each time 20 minutes or so. I still take the handle blower to keep the zero turn mower blown off. I have forgotten to take the end tube a few times for one of them and found they are interchangable.I absolutely love this blower. It is a little heavy, but has a lot of power. I already had the 60v batteries, so for $99 bucks, this was a great deal. Very satisfied. I also have the backpack version of this blower, as well as the straight shaft trimmer, to go along with my Snapper 60v push mower. Power works and Snapper 60v batteries are identical by the way. I highly recommend all of them. After spending years fighting with a gas powered blower/trimmer, I decided to switch to battery powered. (It often won't start and frequently takes an hour before I can start it).Due to the need to handle many, many small leaves (from a huge Elm tree), I needed more battery oomph than normal. This blower with the 60V battery and backpack design was the perfect answer. The heavy battery no longer is an issue. It rides on my back and I don't notice the weight. And better yet, it gets the job done.Product exactly as expected.Overall light weight but yes the battery itself is big and thus powerful and thus heavier than average lithium ion battery.I can easily get 25 minutes (or more) using variable speed. More than enough for my front and back suburban yard.LOVE LOVE LOVE the back pack model. Easier than handheld to carry for extended usage time.Nose is actually less than expected.Pretty much a loud hair dryer, in my opinion.
