I purchased to off grid my Wolf Pup 16ts. I will start off with the instructions are ok. Besides the instructions this unit is pretty easy to figure out when installing.I combined it with 2 275watt 85volt panels. As well as a victron 30amp charger, 120v switch, 1000 watt renogy inverter and 2 200amp lifepo batteries. I added a 400 amp renogy shunt as well.My entire camper besides my ac and microwave is dc powered. I added a 3800 watt wen generator for hot days. Removed the microwave, I mean hey, we are camping. I live in Michigan so majority of campsites are blanketed with trees. When I do find a open sky campsite though this unit pulls through with keeping my batteries charged and running the system. It has built in fans and a temp sensor you can place anywhere nearby so as not to charge if it's too hot or cold in the battery box. Surprisingly it is not as compact for the price.I have had no negative experience's with the unit so far over the summer. Produced over 288kwh! Winter is coming so the system is shut down.Major plus for this unit is the battery charge hookup and a sperate 12v output for the camper. Makes wiring a breeze when running cables. You won't be disappointed with this controller. Easy to use and reliable.July 2021 Update - The replacement LCD screen arrived and is installed. It's working great! I also thought that this part was just an LCD, but it's not. It's the entire front controller board with the buttons and complete circuit board. I will be moving to Florida in less than 2 years when I retire. When I move there I'll be setting up a complete solar power system to power my house. I will be using this company's products. The support is outstanding. They stand behind their products.June 2021 Update - GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! The display issue got worse. I can no longer see the display. The back light works, but there's nothing on the screen anymore. I figured I'd give a shot at contacting the manufacturer to see if I can get a new LCD display. The customer service was quick to respond. I explained the problem and they are arranging to send me a replacement display! Since the charge controller is long out of warranty I do have to pay for the replacement and shipping - which I'm happy to do. In many cases, spare or replacement parts for products like this are impossible to get. I'm very pleased with the charge controller and even more pleased that their customer service responded so quickly and are able to help me. In less than two years I'll be retiring in Florida and setting up a full solar power system. Florida doesn't have natural gas so everything runs on electricity. For my backup battery bank, I will be purchasing a couple more of these charge controllers. The one I have has handled the full 60 amp as advertised without any issue. For the power handling capability, low cost, and reliability, these are great charge controllers. I'd give 10 stars if I could!April 2021 Update - This charge controller is still going strong. The only issue is when it gets cold in the garage the display will go blank. I can restore this by disconnecting the battery bank and solar panels for a minute, then reconnecting. The memory holds the configuration and the display shows again. Hopefully once it gets warmer in the next month or so, the display will remain visible. Even without the display visible, the charge controller continues to work. Pleased with the purchase. After getting my panels, battery bank, inverter and other equipment setup I got around to installing this charge controller. I was confused for a good 15 minutes after connecting it up and the LCD screen coming to life. I went through every setting, twice, thinking I had missed something. Did this charge controller just completely configure itself? The only thing I had to do was change from sealed cell lead acid to liquid and viola this unit was up and running, charging, and doing its thing. This charge controller also has a very wide range of settings, allowing for a lot of flexibility. Now if it just keeps running and I get a reasonable amount of usage out of it I'll be really happy, and buying from this manufacturer again when the time comes. Great product, great price.Made this <$200 purchase after a new controller (different brand & >$200) lasted only 3 weeks. I'm using the same connections and configuration as the other controller, and I was skeptical on an off-brand. Still, I am super pleased with the ease of the manual setup without the use of a PC. The 4 button menu is simple to use and the limit settings are right on! It manages SLA, AGM, Lithium batteries. It's been running my 1.2Kwt solar array, 3kw/48v Lithium battery bank (that I built myself) & a 3k inverter system for 6 wks and it's very solid. It is running the AC of my off-grid "Power Shed". I can run everything from my electric motors, chargers, lights and my chop saw. Of course time will tell how long anything lasts. Blue (as I call this charge controller) keeps my Lithium batteries at a solid voltage each day. I like how it shows how much energy I've used. It's just right for my needs (though small) and I'm only using about 20 amps of what it could control (60 amps), so I can upgrade this system even further. For me, it's a very good unit.Pros: Ease of setup (if you know what you are doing), no extra bluetooth or external devices, but it does come with a battery temp gauge that works.Possible Cons: If you are looking to connect larger than 6 gauge wire, it won't fit in the lugs. For me it works great for 48v batteries though and 8-10 gauge wire.I'll post more in a few months to see the out-come.Update 2May2021:This unit installed, setup and running since August 2020, (9 months later) still going strong. Although I haven't used much power from my shed (130kwh) due to low battery amperage, I'm adding more batteries to resolve that issue for low winter solar collection. All solar is simple and easy to work with if you know the basics and use circuit protectors / fuses. The connectors are solid and had no issues screwing down 10 or 8 gauge wires. The one thing I do like so much about this unit is the LCD screen stays lit up, and I can see it from across the room. I have not experimented with the RS485 communications port yet, but I will try some testing at a later date. I just don't need that component yet. Simple, reliable, and cost-effective is better in my opinion. So far this unit works very well for my needs!
