I have the front wheel conversion kit. It took me a while to complete the conversion, but that's because I'm mechanically challenged, and the instructions are minimal. The first problem is they sent the wrong PAS sensor. They sent the one for the left side of the bottom bracket, but I needed the one for the right. I sent a message via Amazon and they sent another sensor within about 3 weeks or so. Only, it was another one for the left side, so now I have two of the wrong type. I'm sure it was just a miscommunication. I'm not worried about it. I bought the correct one online. The 500W motor is great and probably more than I need to get up any hills. I'm 245 lbs and I'm touring with a total weight of about 400 lbs. I rode it through Texas Hill Country and had no trouble getting up the toughest hills. The 17.5 amp battery is much more than I need, as I don't normally use the electrical assist for riding. I only use it on the steep hills. I lasted 6 days doing 40-50 mi/day before needing a recharge in a hilly portion of the Austin area. After about a month and a half or so, I discovered that there were 3 broken spokes on the motor wheel. I contacted the seller, but he's in China and they are celebrating the Chinese New Years and couldn't sent new spokes fast enough for when I need them as I'm going on a bicycle tour in a week. I'm currently having all the spoke replaced. I don't know for sure why the spokes broke so soon. I'm actually very easy on the motor. I do notice that if I don't put pressure on the peddle before starting to move, the motor will chug a little when starting out. This may cause some strain on the spokes. I recommend always avoid starting with the motor, then ease the motor power if you're using the thumb throttle. If using the pedal assist, you don't really have control. I'm not using pedal assist, so I can't comment. One star lost for the broken spokes, but overall, I think that this is a high quality kit and fairly easy to install. It has a good battery and gets me up to 25 mph on the flats. The customer service is in China, but they are very responsive and as long as you don't mind lead time, they will give good support.Update: I needed to ship the battery so I had to run the battery down to below 20% charge. I took it for a ride like a motorcycle, without any peddling, running on level 4-5 the whole way. It lasted about 36 miles. The max speed on the flats was about 22 mph. It was a mildly hilly route. When I finished it was at 8%. The display shows the remaining charge in percent, but it's pretty nonlinear. It takes a long time to get below 100%, but after you get below 20% - 25%, it drops very fast. Also, the percent it shows while running the motor is up to 10% lower than when not using the motor. The difference is proportional to the work you put on the motor. Climbing a steep hill will show the max difference, so it's sometimes not obvious how much battery power you have remaining. My husband has been attempting to get me on an electric bike for years. I love my bike so this was his solution. Unfortunately, not being computer savvy and not super mechanical, it was a rocky start just ordering and understanding that more questions had to answered before the new wheel and parts were able to be shipped. The company has a gentleman call and assist us not only with completing the order, but he also offered to help with any technical problems.I am so happy with this conversion from manual to electric. I can pedal when I want, and I am completely comfortable on my existing pedal-forward bike that I've owned for years. Thank you!!! Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!
